Below is a full list of the Mystery Gift codes you can currently redeem in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Players that don’t purchase the expansions will receive a free update allowing them access to the newly added Pokémon through trading, since they won’t have access to the new areas. Later, the Japanese Twitter account tweeted out more that’ll appear in the Galar region come the expansions. Developer Game Freak announced the expansions during a Pokémon Direct this morning, showcasing a number of creatures that’ll appear in the game, including three entirely new Pokémon: Kubfu, Urshifu, and Calyrex.
